Frequently asked questions

We are Rayder and Vinicius, two Brazilians who crossed paths in London and bonded over a mutual passion for martial arts and the desire to build a business which would have a truly positive socio-economic impact. We launched AmaVida in 2014! You can read more about us and our mission on our About Page.
There are a number of variations between countries, but in Brazil we pronounce is ‘AH-SIGH-EEE’.
Our purees can be enjoyed in many ways, some of our favourite ways are as a smoothie bowl, in an açaí bowl topped with granola, nuts and fresh fruit, or in a frozen dessert. You can find some recipe inspiration on our recipe page.
We do not currently offer gift cards, but we are working on it. You can sign up to our newsletter to be the first to hear about our news.

Store them in the freezer as soon as you receive your order. They should last up to 2 years at -18C (standard for a domestic freezer).
It is the pure açai pulp of a tropical berry which is mostly found on palms trees in the Amazon jungle. There is also a little bit of filtered water, just enough to extract the açai pulp from the stone and allow the açai puree to flow through the pasteurisation pipes. Maintaining a high concentration of açai fruit is our absolute priority, which is why it measures 15.1% solid content (as high as we could get it – for that extra creaminess). There is also a small amount of lemon juice (0.2%) to help retain the colour and flavour of the fresh açai puree. Read more about açai and its health benefits here.
Dragonfruit, also known as pitaya, is an exotic superfruit that grows on cacti and is indigenous to Central and South America. As with the açai, there is a little bit of filtered water, just enough to extract the pulp from the fruit. Read more about dragonfruit and its health benefits here.
Jackfruit is the largest tree-borne fruit in the world, native to India. Ripe jackfruit is sweet and works well in smoothies and dessert bowls, so like the açai and dragonfruit, we provide it in puree form.
Young, green jackfruit is a great meat-alternative. We produce it in frozen chunks, ready for you to stir-fry, slow cook or add to your stews and curries. Read more about ripe jackfruit and its health benefits here.
Yes, all our products are vegan, organic, lactose-free, soy-free and contain no preservatives. We rely on the highest quality ingredients, treated or processed gently without the use of chemicals to ensure freshness.
We produce our frozen acai in Brazil. Our Dragonfruit comes from Nicaragua and our jackfruit comes from India.
We harvest our fruit at the optimal ripening time and only by instant freezing can we ensure that they retain all of the flavour, and health benefits until they arrive with you.
No. You put the frozen açaí, dragonfruit or ripe jackfruit packs directly into the blender with additional fruit, water/milk and any other ingredients you wish. To make it easier to take the Açaí out of the individual packaging, we recommend running them briefly under lukewarm water.
You can pay for your order using Paypal, or by debit/credit card.
To ensure optimal freshness, orders are shipped frozen and transported in insulated cooler boxes along with dry ice. This keeps our products frozen for 48 to 72 hours. We are currently working on a more sustainable option, and will share more information when this is in place! Store your products in the freezer (below -18) as soon as you receive them in order to maintain freshness.
Before the dry ice can be disposed of, it must first evaporate completely. Leave the dry ice in a well-ventilated room or outdoors. After it has evaporated, you can dispose of the packaging in the recycling bin.
You have the option to choose fast DPD shipping so you will automatically receive an info email and tracking link as soon as the package leaves our shipping centre. You can check the shipment status at any time with your tracking link, receive text updates and change your delivery time if needed.
We currently ship to: United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, France and Belgium.
Due to the nature of the products we do not accept returns.
